Lots of Mugs

I'm a member of several organising groups on Facebook. I've joined them over the past week or so to help inspire me to get more organised.
Today someone posted asking for tips on culling a mug collection.
The tips ranged from keeping 2 per person to recycling them into plant pots, pen pots and make up brush storage.
I thought I had about 12 mugs, when I collected them together I actually had 26! How has that happened.
I've been ruthless and whittled it down to 11.
5x initial mugs
4x stacking Simpson's mugs
2x CK mugs.

The rest are going to husband's work for staff and customers, or the charity shop (kiddie mugs).

In the process of finding them all I managed to smash 3 glasses! So I'll leave decluttering the glassware to another day 😂😂
Hopefully I'm done breaking things by smashing 3 together. Otherwise I have 2 more things to break. Eeek.

  1. Well done you. I actually gave away some of mine containing gifts at Christmas (chocolates, and also rolled up gent's ties)

  3. We have loads of mugs! I regularly cull a few of them by taking them to work with me (work in a school; staffroom always needs mugs), but it's hard to get rid of ones which were gifts or came from specific places... Luckily, with kids going off to university, there's plenty of opportunity for mugs to go as well...

  4. I think mugs multiply when we close the cupboard door!!

It's funny I always secretly like breaking things when I'm on a decluttering mission ... it means the decision for that particular item is taken out of your hands ;-)

  5. What facebook organisation groups have you joined? I'm thinking on joining one or two but there are so many out there now.

    1. The organised mum is one the most active ones I've joined. They have several posts an hour and it's a very friendly group.
