Struggling along

I'm getting very fed up with anything and everything at the moment. The news, social media, my own family and today I even cussed at a packet of microwave popcorn that dared to fall out of my kitchen cupboard on me. I'd of made a sailor blush 🙊.

Hubby suggested I take a little waddle over to Home Bargains for some fresh air. I was pleased to see they had some plants in stock for the first time in a while. These Begonias were only £1.29 so I treated myself.

I've used them to fill the gaps in the dinosaur safari tower. I'd lost a few pansy and a single geranium in the hot weather. There was a single Begonia left so I've popped into a terracotta pot for my bedroom window.

Over the past few days my husband has been helping to clear his late grandfathers house. He's been very well behaved considering his hoarding tendencies and double checking if I'd like things before arriving home with lots of bits. We've inherited some bits of garden furniture and useful things like planters and hanging baskets.
He also grabbed some flower vases for me to look through. I've kept 3 of the 5 and offered the remaining two on a local freebie facebook page.

We've also inherited a few plants and shrubs. One of which was a large planter of House Leeks. I've split them into single heads and replanted the extra ones to offer tk friends and family. They are one of those lovely succulents that rapidly spread to fill whatever container they are in so there is more than enough to go around.

We've been trying to get the children out regularly for exercise though it's mostly me slowing everyone down now. I've got just enough waddle power to get us to the local newsagent for a ice cold slushie 😋 Baby bump is dropping now though so those days could be over shortly as things get more uncomfortable. I'm 34weeks and change so hopefully the end is in sight.

Saturday Treats

Yesterday my MIL popped up to visit us for the afternoon. We haven't caught up with each other for ages so it was lovely to have a chat over some pizza in the local pizza hut. DD loved trying a little bit of every ones pizza and was like a kid in a candy store at the salad bar with her own little bowl.
Because DD had behaved so well during our meal, I treated her to a ride on Iggle Piggle in the local shopping centre of the way back to see Daddy in his shop.

A finally a little treat for all of us. Iceland have KitKat chunky bars on offer for £1.50  for 8 bars!!! At less than 20p a bar and use by date of 2013 we will be filling our boots on this offer by picking up a pack or two each time we pass.
And finally a 10p bargain from a local chazza shop. DD picked it our because she recognised the number and she liked the birds. She insisted on putting it on straight away and I have a feeling this will be a new favourite for a little while.
In other news, we finally got in touch with the tax man about our letter to find out that money is in fact flowing toward us :) So we have almost £1000 travelling its way towards our holiday, Christmas and savings accounts. Our holiday next month is going to be super luxurious now with a little extra boost to the saving pot, I'm thinking of all those cream teas already!!!

On my mind/Declutter challenge

This post is a double whammy to get me back into blogging. Firstly it is my On my Mind post for Down to Earth's blog. And secondly its my weeks efforts for A Thifty Mrs's 30 Day Declutter Challenge.
So here is my first bag of items for the charity shop, including books I've read, clothes I don't wear, shoes that make you bleed after 3 steps and plenty more besides. The Thrifty Mrs challenges is only supposed to be 3 items per day in November, but once I started I just couldn't stop so I'm tweaking the rules to a minimum of 3 items decluttered a day.
Also on my mind is my brother Ian. He ran the Great South Run for the first time last weekend, 10 miles in 1hour 46 minutes. I am so proud of him, and he raised just over £500 for a local children's cancer ward.

Back to reality

Well ladies and gents I am officially a married woman. I thought I would pop up a few pictures to share our day with you. First up is us signing the register.

Me with my parents. They were fantastic, and helped organise everything.
OH and his parents.

Our wedding cake was a tri-force cake from The Legend of Zelda. One of our favorite computer games. We had this at our reception but I just had to pop a photo on here.

All together at Jamies Italian in Gun Wharf Quays at Portsmouth. We chose to have a nice family meal out for the wedding party on the day, as our reception was a few days later.

Hope you like the photos, normal blogging will resume tomorrow.

Our afternoon.

Today I spent a lovely afternoon with my best friend and her lovely family. We were very kindly invited round to celebrate an Uncle's birthday and you know us, any excuse for cake and a natter. DD spent all afternoon playing with her little friend Holly and exploring a new place kept her quite entertained for hours. The photo above is DD's very first steps with a walker.
This is after our enormous sausage and chips dinner. And as you can see from the evidence baked beans were a part of the meal.
A quiet five minutes on the sofa to let our dinners settle before a crawl around the garden to find some pretty stones and hunt for bugs.

It was such a lovely afternoon and I really felt part of the family while I was there. The best things in life really are free eh?
