A lovely day out (Hugely Picture Heavy)

Hello Lovely readers. Thank you for all your lovely comments and a big welcome to my new followers :). I never knew I'd interesting to so many people.
Today we planned to visit the kite festival at Southsea. It's been a lovely sunny day and people were milling around the common in droves. I snapped a few pics of the various kites we spotted.

I thought they looked rather impressive behind the statues on the war memorial.
Then after getting a little bit to chilly in the sea breeze we decided to head over to Southsea Castle for a little bit of a mooch. It love love love this building, it's just so beautiful. If you ever in the area it is well worth a quick visit. Also it's free.

Inside the museum is this rather impressive model of King Henry the 8th. He of the 6 wives fame. DD threw a small tantrum when we wouldn't let her beep his nose. LOL
DD and OH just after the tantrum.
The walls in Southsea Castle can be 3 metres thick in some places, meaning there are some huge windowsills. Can you imagine how many family photo's and knick knacks you could fit on one of these if you lived there?
Riding the cannon with a little help from Daddy. OH was fascinated by all the original and replica cannons in the courtyard. I think DD rode most of them :)
3 A suit of armour and a rum barrel on display in the museum.

Make up bag, Compact mirror, Royal Jelly soap, Next body spritz
Tombola winnings.
Felt duck picture £1, Handmade bookmark which we watched being made and personalised £1.

2 little duck models 50p, Turkey dog toy- 50p tombola win, sample of dog treats, souvenir poster 40p, Hedgehog microwave cuddly £1 toy tombola.

The dog toy and treats will be passed on to our lovely neighbour for her hearing dog. Our souvenir poster was cheaper than a postcard and will be popped on the fridge.

Car Boot Sale Bargains

Hello my lovely readers. Today has been simply wonderful as we hit not one but two car boot sales this morning. First the lovely Southsea Sea Front car boot and second the Allington Lane car boot sale.
Cath Kidston Kids Pencil Wallet 20p, 2 VTECH interactive books 50p each, Salt and Pepper set Free, Crabtree and Everlyn shampoo and conditioner 20p, Duck Plate Free, 2 Duck books 10p each.

The duck plate and salt/pepper set came from the same stall which had a "free please take me" box. DD is obsessed with all things duck so her very own duck plate is a fantastic find. The toiletries will be perfect for my weekend away next week, and as for the Cath Kidston case! WOW!

Shiny dress 25p (For DD), Brown top 20p, Blue top 20p, TY beany duck £1

Crochet granny square blanket 20p, Hungry Caterpillar set £1, Blut Dress with shorts 25p

I know I can make them but for 20p I couldn't pass up this colorful blanket for pennys. And to think someone spent so much time making it!!!! I have been looking for a hungry Caterpillar book for a few months now so I was super please to find this cardboard edition with a cute Caterpillar toy. DD is currently fast asleep hugging him so I couldn't add him into the picture lol.
Wooly Cardigan 30p, Christmas dressing gown 50p, Wicket tea set £1.50

The tea set and the dressing gown have already been squirreled away for xmas presents for DD. I've never seen a wicket tea set before and is wonderful a light for DD to play with without risk of damage. Before we hid the set she was sipping tea from the little teacups, and pouring the tea.

What bargains did you find today?

Adventures

Last night OH and I went out to the circus in Southsea. I still had my camera in my bag from the day before, so while we waited for the show to begin we snapped a few shots of Southsea.
Above is the war memorial on Southsea common. It is sooooooo beautiful and completely huge!!! Well worth a quick look if you are in the area.
A closer view of the very top. So beautiful.
This is the view of the big top from the other side of the common, we parked this side because it was free. Along with the free circus tickets and the 2 cans of Diet Coke we treated our selves to this night out cost us about £1 plus a little bit of petrol.
Today me and my lovely friend Cass went to the Havant Go Green Fair. It was really interesting and I had so many lovely informative chats with some of the stall holders. The photo above is of one of the entertainers, it isn't the best photo ever I'm afraid but he was absolutely brilliant :)

This was the view from one end of the Fair. As you can see there was plenty of stall to look at and lots of delicious local produce to sample, and a couple on a stall of coppice crafts showing how they made various things. I have a huge bag of freebies and leaflets to go through, but I'm going to wait till to tomorrow when I'm not so tired out lol.
