Day 4 - Space week

Today has been decidedly non spacey.
The weather has been pretty grotty and everyone is a bit tired and grouchy.
Tomorrow is our big museum trip so it'll make up for today by being extra spacey! I've prepared the picnics and packed the backpacks for everyone already.

Late last night DD1 lost her very first baby tooth. It's been bugging her for days so we are all relieved it's come out. This morning she found it replaced by a shiny coin beneath her pillow.

Our main activity of the day was a trip to the cinema. Kids Club tickets are only £2.50 a head if you see a 10 am movie. We watched Kung fu panda 3, everyone enjoyed it.
I missed the last 20 minutes as Gman woke from his nap a little earlier than usual but overall we did really well.

Day 3 - Space Week

Spaceman Sam needed help in space today, so the girls became astronauts. We haven't had time to cut them out and finish them, but I will add it to tomorrow's to do list.

Our main event of the day was a trip to Staunton Farm. The girls loved watching and interacting with the animals.
For the half term break they also have a bird of prey group visiting, and we enjoyed their display.
Lunch was a picnic of cheese wraps, vegetable sticks and watermelon slices. The girls were really good and carried their backpacks the entire trip.
It all bodes well for our big trip to London on Wednesday.

Day 2 - Space week

Spaceman Sam left us our next mission. We had to make some UFO's for the naughty aliens.
It was nice simple cutting and sticking task to do.

Hopefully by the time we get back from our trip to the swimming pool they will be dry.
Instead of keeping a diary we are trying something new this time, and making a poster featuring all the things we made over the holidays.
I'm not quite sure how it will work but we are trying it anyway.

Space week - Day 1

The girls enjoyed finding a letter from Spaceman Sam on the breakfast table this morning. We soon worked out the maths questions and got to work.

It's been a while since I baked with the girls, so it was lovely to see them enjoying it.
We took a little walk to the local park while they cooled down.

In the afternoon we dipped them in some melted chocolate and went sprinkle crazy.
It kept the girls occupied just long enough for Gman to enjoy a peaceful afternoon nap.

Schools out.

I've spent some time this evening gathering together all of my stashed bits and pieces.
Tomorrow sees the beginning of space week and I'm really looking forward to it.
Check in each day to see what we get up to.

Staying out of it

Today has been exhausting. Sometimes keeping yourself out of other people shenanigans takes just as much energy as being in them.
I'm going to bed with some hot chocolate.
No calls!

Rhubarb Rhubarb

I was kindly given a handful of Rhubarb by my parents recently. It's our first fresh rhubarb of the year, so I was determined to make good use of it.
First I snipped it into child friendly chunks, then stewed it in an ovenproof dish.
The juice was separated  for making cordial and the chunks became a crumble.
Hopefully both should see us into the weekend and the start of the school holidays.
Our theme for half term is Space. I've been collecting some really exciting ideas for activities on Pinterest.

Let's start over.

Hello my friends,
It's been a while. Life in the Random family is hectic. Life with three children  means we always have something to do or somewhere to be.
I'm hoping to get back to blogging regularly but I won't promise it, just in case it doesn't happen.
I look forwardto catching up with all of you soon.
