Sunday wanderings

Today we decided to break our lazy Sunday into two manageable lazy chunks by taking DD for a little walk to our local country park. The plan was to feed the local duck population the stale bread we'd found in the back of the fridge and wear DD out for her afternoon nap. But when we got there we found this (see above). A free open air concert staring The Stones, a Rolling Stone tribute band. So we decided to plop ourselves on the grass and have a listen

After a quick hunt through mummy's handbag........

.... we found and emergency stash of toys, biscuits and drinks to keep us going. But after a nice sit down and rest it was onwards.......
.....To the ducks!!!!
We found loads hiding the other side of the lake to the music festival. Apparently ducks don't really like The Rolling Stones.

And then we had conquered Staunton once again! Ready to go home for a nice nap.

Staunton Park Part 2

Sorry it has taken me so long to post Part 2. I'm heading off on my holidays tomorrow so there is lots of organising and packing going on. DD also took her first little walk on her own and I was so proud of her!!! I have also just become an Auntie for the first time. Lots and lots going on!!!
OH and DD pretending they are giants next to a Shetland Pony.
One of the many ducks at Staunton. DD loves ducks and spent most of the visit shouting quack at anything that moved.
DD feeding a kid (baby goat) with a little help from daddy. I was really impressed with her lack of fear around the animals.

Me and DD watching the most fluffy goat I have ever seen. I think he is eyeing up my jumper in this photo but I'm not sure lol.

See you in a week folks

Staunton Park Part 1

Today we had a really lovely day out at Staunton Country Park. We visited both the park and the farm, and took an incredible amount of photos during our visit. So I have split the best ones in to two post to pop on here. First up is the Park side. Every few steps along the path we followed had such beautiful views and things to discover. Their are lots of follies in the park to discover like Shell House and a refurbished Victorian stables to look at. Here are a few of my favorite shots from today.

A sneak peek into a cow field next to the parks main path.
A glorious view of Stauntons lake from the top the hill. This is where we sat with our picnic.

DD has lots of lovely soft grass to explore, we let her crawl about to her hearts content after our picnic.

DD was particularly impressed with the range of sticks on offer and proceed to make a lovely little collection during her crawl about.
